The Emirates Palace has to be seen to be believed. All $ 3.8 billion of it !! The building is remarkable and even though you cannot wander to the beach or accomodation areas, you can wander throughout the main building on the way to the Cafe for your Golden Cappuccino. For A$80 you can wander the foyer and shops then sit down for a slice of cake and coffee. The coffee wasn't great so if you are fanatical about the strength and heat of your coffee then you might be disappointed. Ours was luke warm albeit with the 24 carat topping. The slice was yummy. You are really paying for access and the unique experience to tell your friends about the amazing complex and what gold "tastes" like. Fun but not obligatory.
