Day 1 : ACCRA, GHANA IN
Arrival in Accra (Ghana) and transfer to the hotel. Free time to relax.
Day 2: KUMASI | ASHANTI ARTS & CRAFTS
We depart for Kumasi in the morning where we will spend the first day of this tour visiting the Cultural Centre, Prempeh II Jubilee Museum and Okomfo Anokye Sword Site.
Day 3: FIEMA MONKEYS SANCTUARY | THE MOLE GAME PARK
We depart from your hotel early in the morning for the Buabeng/Fiema Monkey Sanctuary for game viewing. We will stop over at Techiman for breakfast before continuing to Mole Game Park via the Larabanga Mosque, the oldest Mosque in Ghana.
Day 4: MOLE GAME PARK | AFRICAN SAFARI
On foot from the motel, we will proceed on an early morning game viewing trip in Mole game park. En route, we will use paths that expose us to the ancestral art of tracking and approaching animals silently. Wildlife to be encountered in Mole game park includes antelopes, warthogs, baboons, blue and black columbus, elephants etc.
Day 5: TAMALE | ADOBE MOSQUES | LARABANGA ANCIENT MOSQUE |
We start our journey Northwards, Our dusty road follows the tracks of the former caravan road that used to connect the main trading centres of the Sudanese kingdoms such as Djenné or Timbuktu.
Day 6: BOLGATANGA | SCARED CROCODILE POND
After breakfast, we leave for the Paga crocodile pond located at the north-eastern border between Ghana and Burkina Faso, to visit this sacred sanctuary for crocodiles.
Day 7: BOLGATANGA | NORTHEN ARTS & CRAFTS
We will visit the African arts & crafts market of Bolgatanga, famous for straw baskets, fan, hats, local northern attries, leather goods, metal jewellery and other African crafts.
Day 8: GURUNSI TRIBES | AFRICAN FRESCOES
Drive and in the afternoon we meet with the Gurunsi tribe living in adobe fortified buildings decorated with black, red and white African frescoes.
Day 9: NORTHERN GHANA | FORTIFIED VILLAGES
The Lobi live in the surroundings of Wa, isolated in clay houses protected by a high wall without access and made of a rectangular granary surrounded by the different rooms and a cowshed.
Day 10 : TALENSI TRIBE | ORACLE
Inside a deep crack on the higher side of the mountain there is the oracle’s cave, an important place of pilgrimage. People however are allowed inside only if accompanied by adepts.
Day 11 : CAPE COAST | HISTORIC SLAVES' CASTLES
Elmina Castle is the oldest European building in Africa. At different times the castle has been used as a warehouse to trade gold, ivory, and eventually slaves.
Day 12 : ACCRA | AFRICAN METROPOLIS
We will visit the area of the coffin makers, with their elaborately shaped coffins representing fruits, animals, fish, cars, airplanes…. and the only limit is the intended occupant’s imagination.
