A historic village built on a rocky outcrop. You will find a beautiful Romanesque church dating from the 12th century church which dominates the skyline, and the ruins of a medieval castle.

Stop At: Chateau la Canorgue, route du Pont Julien, 84480 Bonnieux France
No matter what route you take to Bonnieux, you will see the church tower well before you arrive. At a height of 425m, the tower dominates the countryside and the surroundings of this magnificent village, situated in the Luberon. You can also admire the vast plains planted with grape vines (Cotes du Luberon), lavender*, cereals and fruit trees just as the impressionists painted them. The village has kept all its authenticity, its steep sloping streets, its fountains and washhouses, its old church or upper church, a mix of Romanesque and Gothic and a view that is worth it all.
*Lavender is only in June-July.

We will take you through one of the trails of the ochre lands. You will see from close its different shades ranging from yellow to violet. Information on the geology, the flora and the history of the ochre deposits is available on site.
