About this activity
Your Alexandria specialist guide will pick you up from your Alexandria hotel at 9am and drive you in air-conditioned comfort to your first stop, the new library of Alexandria. The ancient library of Alexandria was the largest in the world, and the modernist Bibliotheca Alexandrina is an impressive piece of modern architecture. Next, head to the Citadel of Qaitbay, the Ottoman-era fortress built on the site of the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria, one of the original Seven Wonders of the World. Then you'll visit the Montazah Palace, home to the last king of Egypt, King Farouk, before breaking for an included lunch at a restaurant with Mediterranean sea views.
After lunch, visit Pompey's Pillar, the Roman Amphitheater, and the Alexandria National Museum, home to a fascinating collection of artefacts, some salvaged from the waters of the harbor. Explore the eerie, 3rd-century catacombs, whose architecture is a fascinating mix of Greek, Roman, and ancient Egyptian styles. Next, enjoy a whirlwind tour of monuments including the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the statue of Alexander the Great, before a drive along the waterfront Corniche and across the Stanley Bridge. You'll head back to your hotel around 4pm.

We were super excited about this tour. We woke up early and was ready to go. NO ONE SHOWED UP. We called them, viator called them no one answer. The communication was terrible and they never showed up.
Experienced guide and well versed on all of the history and lore. Enjoyable day and excellently dining experience.
My fiance and I only had 2 days in Alexandria but thanks to this tour, I truly feel that we got a real feel for the beautiful city. Our guide, Kholoud, was one of the most knowledgeable guides I've ever had. She was welcoming, took time to take us through the history of each stop and gave us enough time to enjoy the sights on our own before heading out. Also, Kholoud is a phenomenal photographer. I've never seen my fiance hand over his phone so readily but thank goodness he did because we have some beautiful photos to remember Alexandria. It was truly a great experience so many thanks to Kholoud!
My private tour of Alexandra was excellent. My guide, Nevine, was the best! It was nice having a female guide for a change. She took me to all the important sights and we had lunch at a fabulous restaurant with an amazing view. Enjoy every moment!
This was an absolutely awesome day made even better by my guide Kholoud. The wealth of knowledge passed on by Kholoud was above and beyond what I expected. I was never rushed, always given free time always asked if I wanted photos with anything. I felt completely looked after and comfortable. Please make sure you ask for Kholoud if booking this tour, she was the perfect guide.
She was nice and patient but i had better tour guide who didn't spent their time talking to the driver but really talk about the city history. Also although you go to the Fort you only stay outside which I didn't care for.
