About this activity
After introductions with your guide, set off to explore Amsterdam like the locals do: by bike! With around 250 miles (400 km) of bike lanes and paths traversing the flat urban terrain, Amsterdam is a cyclist's dream.
Follow your seasoned guide around the city by bike, as they lead you to well-known local landmarks and lesser-known attractions. No one tour will be the same; each individual guide tailors the route to best show off their local knowledge.
You might start of at Museum Square, home to three of the city’s major museums including the Van Gogh Museum, then cruise onward to the bustling Dam Square to admire views of the classical Royal Palace.
Venture into the infamous Red Light District and observe how grand architecture sits side by side with seedy neon-lit alleys. Hear about the liberal drug and prostitution laws that govern the city, and let your guide point out interesting venues and nightclubs.
Afterward, you might slow things down on a serene ride through Vondelpark, a green oasis in the city, or journey through the much sought-after Jordaan district, a picturesque old working class neighborhood. Alternatively, seek out Anne Frank House, where the young diarist and her family hid from the Nazis.
Toward the end of the tour, sit down for a drink with your guide at one of their favorite local hangouts (own expense), then return to the departure point in central Amsterdam, where your tour concludes.

Our guide was great. The tour was good in that it took you off the beaten track and allowed you to experience daily living in Amsterdam.
What a fun way to see Amsterdam. Our guide Simon was brilliant and made sure we all kept safe. Would thoroughly recommend this tour
Our tour guide, David, was amazing! I am sure that all of your tour guides are great, but there was a group of 6 of us traveling together from Pennsylvania and we all thought David was fantastic - he made the tour! We enjoyed traveling around like a true local from Amsterdam and hearing about your beautiful city. David brought up so many interesting things that we would not have known had he not pointed them out to us. I will recommend everyone that is visiting Amsterdam to use Mike's Bike Tours and if possible to ask for David!
Great bike tour! Informative and Teo made it even more enjoyable with his knowledge of the history of the City Of Amsterdam which is absolutely spectacular!!
Really well run tour from beginning to end. Highly recommended. Got much more out of this than the canal tour.
This should be an absolute must for anyone visiting Amsterdam. We had a fantastic tour guide, Patrick and we saw the entire city and learned more about the culture and history than from the on/off bus. This tour made our trip!
Great tour. Tour guide was great fun.
Aaron was a very cool guy and a fun guide. Knowledgeable and easy going. Great tour. Highly recommend Mikes Bikes and this tour.
The tour was incredible. Our tour guide, Sander, was funny and knowledgeable and really gave us all a great insight into the city. I would highly recommend for anyone visiting for the first time.
I loved this tour!! Our tour guide was great! He was funny, informative, really friendly and made the experience really worthwhile. He was also very honest about Amsterdam's interesting aspects Red Light District and Vondelpark, and offered mildly critical commentary about the city, too. I appreciated that. If you visit Amsterdam and you are physically able you simply must get on a bicycle and pedal around. Hands down, it is the best way to see the city. Do what the locals do. Listen carefully to the rules of the road in terms of bike, pedestrian and auto etiquette. That part is important. If you are older don't let that scare you off from this experience. I am 58-years-old. I took the tour with my 17-year-old daughter. I was by far the oldest person in this tour and I did just fine. Go for it!
