E-scooter 1.5 hour tour - Volendam & Edam route

The best way to explore the countryside of Amsterdam is to go by (E-)bike or E-chopper. Explore Volendam and Edam on your super cool E-chopper or E-fatbike within 1,5 hours. This route contains different photostops and (optional) culinair and cultural hotspots to visit.

Start your tour in de famous old-harbour of Volendam where you can see the traditional houses, soak up the fishing village atmosphere and pick up souvenirs for those at home or a memento for yourself. Visit the famous maze ‘Doolhof’ in Volendam with small streets and cute little houses. Cruise next to the dike, take a break to see (and even dive into!) the lake, the “Gouwzee”.

Within one hour you can perfectly visit Edam, a almost 800 year old town north of Volendam. Edam is famous for its peaceful narrow alleys and small canals, the beautiful façades of the cozy houses and the unique small boutiques. Also Edam is known for its cheese market (every wednesday from 10:30 till 12:30 in july and august) where visitors can both taste and purchase a various number of cheeses.

Take a stroll around Edam’s ancient streets and take a look at the beautiful Great Church and the Musicaltower ‘Speeltower’ of Edam. Move on trough the Damplein in Edam and relax on one of the many terraces to enjoy a refreshing drink. Visit the Edam Museum, which is Edam's oldest brick house. It was built in or around 1540 as a private house and was furnished as museum in 1895. Learn about Edam’s history, from its shipbuilding tradition to its architecture, notable families and daily life in the past.

Finally, visit the traditional Katwouder windmill in Katwoude.
