2 Days Misti Climb 5822m

Your expert tour guide with a four wheel drive will pick you up from your hotel and drop you at the starting point for the climb at a level of 3500 m. From here we start hiking and you will notice that the landscape is changing due to the high altitude. We hike for approximately 6 to 8 hours to our basecamp. Reaching the basecamp, you can stretch your legs and your guide will prepare a light meal for you. We spend the overnight in tents with good warm sleeping bags.

After an early breakfast and some hot coca-tea at 2 AM, we start our climb to the summit of the volcano. The hike keeps us warm and after 5 hours climbing, we enter the snow area and by the time daylight is coming, you reach the top of El Misti Volcano with a priceless view of the morning sunrise. Congratulations, you made it to the top of the El Misti Volcano at an elevation of 5822 meters! We can descent into the mayor crater, where you can see the volcano activity, or you can have a short walk over the top of this volcano. Once we have some excellent pictures of the spectacular views of the Chachani and Pichu Picchu volcano, we descend to the base camp. As difficult as it was to climb to the top, the descending to the base camp on paths of sand and ash is very easy. We pick up our tents at the base camp and continue descending. Your driver will be waiting for you to transfer you back to your hotel in Arequipa. You arrive in Arequipa at approximately 4 PM.
