2 DAYS SAFARI: MTO WA MBU CULTURAL TOUR & NGORONGORO CRATER

Itinerary

Day 1: Day 1: Moshi / Arusha town – Mto wa Mbu in Manyara town

Stop At: Lake Manyara National Park Tanzania
Day 1: Moshi town – Mto wa Mbu Early morning drive from Moshi to the small but largely populated village of Mto wa Mbu, Kiswahili for River of Mosquitoes. The village is populated by almost 50 different tribes and has some of the most colorful and liveliest markets in Tanzania. In the 1960’s an ambitious irrigation project was started in order to turn what was predominantly swamp land into farm land and was a huge success, you will have a chance to experience this up-close, (Optional to a cycling tour through the banana plantations to Lake Manyara (without entering the National Park) where you can view some of the game and if water permits, you may have the chance to walk up close to the beautiful flamingoes. From there you will cycle back into town where your bicycles will be left {Activity not included in the price}) and you will walk from here through the local irrigation systems and farm lands. You will be able to see the rice plantations, the enormous baobabs and have a traditional Swahili lunch provided by a local women’s group. This is a full day packed with culture, sights and amazing landscapes. Accommodation options: Twiga Campsite

Day 2: Day 2: Ngorongoro conservation area – Moshi / Arusha town

Stop At: Ngorongoro Crater, Ngorongoro, Ngorongoro Conservation Area Tanzania
Early morning breakfast start and with packed lunch you will start Safari to descend to crater, and enjoy beautiful 7 hours crater Tour. You will come across unique attractions near this historical caldera where man and wildlife are living together without harming one another. Get a chance to observe wildlife including Lion, Elephant, Rhino, Buffalo, Hippo, Wildebeest, Warthog and Zebra, and see also lake Magadi, Lerai Forest and Ngoitoktok swamp. Ngorongoro crater it’s the only place that you can easily spot the big 5. Later after your lunch at the picnic site start drive back to Airport or Arusha / Moshi town.
