Francesca met us at the door of the basilica with a friendly greeting and it only got better afterwards. She directed us to interesting and beautiful sights and filled in with insights that were thought-provoking as well as historical. The Basilica and later the whole town came alive due to her narrative.
We made reservations less than 48 hours prior to the tour, which caused some problems. However, our guide Catina was phenomenal. For over 3 hours she informed us about the art and architecture of Assisi, and of the history of St. Francis and of the area, back to pre-Roman times. Well-versed on her subject matter, she paid attention to details. Her English was faultless and her knowledge encyclopedic. One of the best tours we have ever taken! (Be advised, however, you will walk around 5 miles and climb stairs!)
Dear Cartier. Thank you so much for sharing your amazing knowledge on the art, history and of course the religion of Assisi. I think being a local made such a difference to your passion about the area of Assisi and surrounds. The tour was wonderful beginning to end and I will be recommending your services to all those travelling to Assisi in the future. Thanks also for the restaurant recommendations and visits to other sites. We did get to The Hermitage and down to see the Porziuncola in Santa Maria degli Angeli which was so lovely. Wishing you all the best and thank you so much for your care and exceptional tour expertise. Kerry and Harry Williams
Visiting Assisi was our favorite part of Europe! Assisi is the most beautiful, spiritual village and we truly enjoyed learning about and seeing the significant sites related to St. Francis and St. Clare. Michel, our tour guide, was very knowledge!
Having a personal guide made this tour special. Our guide was very knowledgeable and provided interesting perspectives on the history of the town and the lives of St Francis, St Claire and others noting the little details and anecdotal references that brought things to life.
Michel was a wonderful guide and he gave us a very thorough background on St Francis and on Assisi while we walked around.
Assisi is a beautiful city with Narrow cobblestone streets, very clean, small shops and restaurants, olive trees line the hills of the city. The best part of the tour is Saint Frances life, conversion to Christ center life of humble principles. Miguel our guide is very knowledgeable of the history
Micheli was an outstanding guide. We enjoyed our walking tour of Assisi a lot.
Our guide was Michele, He was really knowledgeable and even passionate about the church of St. Francis. In fact he was passionate about all of Assisi. We had a great time and he recommended a really good restaurant for lunch. It was good to have a private guide rather than be part of a large group. We got to ask more questions and personalize the experience more. Highly recommend.
