Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product
Stop At: Tour Shop, Auckland Central, Auckland 1010 New Zealand
Our day begins with your pick-up from your Auckland CBD City hotel or accommodation.
Heading north we pass over the spectacular Harbour Bridge with its view of two inner harbours and the thousands of sailing vessels that give us the nickname "City of Sails". Admire the scenery as it unfolds in front of you and take in the majestic sight of Rangitoto Volcano.
Enjoy the journey as we continue to travel through pretty seaside villages. Our first stop at an impressive coastal lookout is an ideal opportunity to take some great photos.
Duration: 50 minutes
Stop At: Honey Centre, Corner of State Highway One & Perry Road, Warkworth, Auckland 0983 New Zealand
Calling into the Honey Centre is a must. Not only is it a great opportunity to try this area's famous Manuka Honey, renowned for its unique healing properties, it's also where you will taste exotic combinations such as honey fruit blends such as blueberry honey amongst others. Or perhaps have a sample of their mead drink, something quite different entirely!
The delightful gift shop stocks an interesting range of honey products from candles and jewellery to skincare at very reasonable prices.
We take the opportunity to grab our freshly made espresso coffee before move on to the village of Matakana
Duration: 15 minutes
Stop At: Matakana Village Farmers' Market, 2 Matakana Valley Road, Matakana, Auckland 0985 New Zealand
On Saturdays, we call into the famous farmers market. Local wine, chocolate, honey, cheeses, pickles, dipping sauces & tastings galore await you here.
Eccentric locals and live entertainment is a feast for the other senses. Set amongst the quaint village shopping square, discover local boutiques selling books, candles and designer clothes.
We haven't got long here so make the most of the time, perhaps grab a small bite to eat from one of the many food stalls to keep you going until your late lunch of fish and chips
* You may wish to bring a small amount of cash as many of the stallholders do not accept credit cards
Duration: 30 minutes
Stop At: Clearyak, 150 Goat Island Rd, Leigh 0985, New Zealand
asl
Duration: 2 hours
Stop At: Leigh, Leigh, North Island
After a full morning of activity, it's time for lunch. A kiwi favourite, it's a meal of locally caught, sustainable fish and chips lunch to be enjoyed beachside.
(For those who prefer the fish meal can be replaced with other options, such as a hamburger or similar. Please let us know if you have any special dietary requirements so we can cater for you.)
Duration: 30 minutes
Stop At: Warkworth, Warkworth, North Island
After lunch, we begin to make our way slowly back into the city. But first, we will stop and visit a majestic 800-year-old Kauri tree, followed by a short boardwalk through NZ native forest.
Then, if time permits, we have the option of various stop-offs including small-batch craft ale makers Sawmill Brewery, or we call into Oysters Matakana, or grab an ice-cream from Charlies Gelato. There's even a cheese factory nestled in a historic Bohemian village to discover. (Optional stop-offs food and drink purchase are for own expense).
Your full action-packed day finishes with your arrival back at your pick-up point by 5pm where we say a fond farewell and kia mihi (thank you) and safe travels onwards.
