Our guide, Anne, gave us a good history of Avignon and Provence. The tour was a steep climb for old people initially, so a better way of getting to the Pope’s Palace should be considered. However the content of the tour was excellent and the guide very informative.
Good tour. Very happy we opted for one, as we got to see parts of the palace and learn things that we wouldn't have otherwise. Guide did an excellent job, especially with his handling a couple of, shall I say, "difficult" members of our group. Definitely worth it.
Knowledgeable tour guide walked us through the entire area including the Pope’s castle. Very enjoyable tour.
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour and our guide. This was a great way to learn about Avignon and the papacy in France.
This was a great, quick tour of the major sights in Avignon. We've taken skip-the-line tours before and they were sometimes too abbreviated, but this was not. We saw everything you would see if you went on your own, with a lot of explanation and commentary by our wonderful guide, Melanie.
Intriguing history and edifice. A little difficult to hear all the information as the area is crowded. Recommend audio-tour or headsets with guide. Had good time, nonetheless.
Recently completed the tour with our guide Remy who was terrific- very knowledgeable and patient. I was a little disappointed as the description of the tour made it sound like it was more of a city walking tour and we saw very little of the actual city which is what I was really interested in. The tour of the Popes Palace is included, but I think you can get more insight to the palace with one of their audio guides. Overall the tour guide was great, but the actual tour left me wanting more.
Was an enjoyable morning with a pleasant and knowledgeable guide. It covered a very limited area and was VERY expensive for what we got. I'd suggest booking the walking tour through the Tourist Office. More comprehensive and much better value
Great tour. Marc is very personable and knowledgeable.
