Private Guided Walking Tour in the Alpilles Mountains Including Les Baux de Provence from Avignon

You will be picked-up at 9am directly at your hotel in Avignon by your guide in Avignon. There will be a short transfer by private vehicle to the Alpilles mountains where you will begin the guided walk, taking seldom-used paths with jaw-dropping panoramas in all directions: the Alpilles mountains are not high but stand alone in an otherwise flat Rhône Valley. You'll v isit a 3000 year-old fort unknown to tourists and locals alike where the first populations of the region settled. The path will lead you directly to the 1000 year-old village of Les Baux de Provence, where there will be free time to explore the village streets and have some lunch (own expense). You can also bring a picnic along if you'd prefer so that you can find a secluded spot to picnic atop the Alpilles mountains with great views, far from the tourist crowds.

Set just beside the village of Les Baux is a former limestone quarry, converted into a stunning light and picture show: Carrières de Lumières. This activity takes just under an hour and is not included in the price however if you want to visit then time can be made for this during the tour.

After the walk is complete you'll head to a nearby olive mill where you'll enjoy a tasting of some of the prized olive oils that are produced around Les Baux de Provence (the largest olive growing region in France). A return transfer is included to your hotel in Avignon, arriving at 5pm.
