About this activity
After hotel pickup in central Bangkok, you're accompanied to three of the city's most enigmatic temples. Start at Wat Triamit, home to the Golden Buddha, and be awe-struck by the sight of this 12,000-pound (5,500-kg) solid gold Buddha statue. In order to disguise and protect it from plunderers, the figure was covered in plaster for two centuries until it was restored.
Continue on to Wat Pho, a large temple that dates back to the 17th century. See more than 1,000 images in addition to the 150-foot-long (46-meter) Reclining Buddha, covered in gold leaf to represent the entrance of Buddha into Nirvana.
Finally, proceed to Wat Benchamabophit, known for its fusion of Thai and European architectural styles. Learn about its marble Buddha and the temple's pillars and walls made of white Cararra marble imported from Italy.
Finish with a stop at the Gems Gallery, where you can browse for precious stones available for purchase. Your tour concludes with a comfortable ride back to your hotel.

The guide made us meet at a hotel that was at least 30 minutes from our hotel so we had to get a taxi. Then they were an hour late. When we got there the guide was very disengaged and basically acted like a driver taking around town to some of the differant temples. Then when we got to the gem market, the guide walked us in and then without giving clear direction, LEFT US at the Gem Gallery without telling us that he had to leave to go do another tour. Apparently, we had a differant van that would take us to the mall after but that was not explained to us. My wife and I, another couple, and a young lady we were with were all confused and had to ask one of the gem gallary workers what we needed to do and where the hell our guide went. That being said, the Bangkok Temple with the Golden Buddha was really beautiful. The reclining Buddha was really great and the last temple we went to closed as we got it to because they were prepping something for the royal family. The attractions are worth it, I just hope you get a differant tour company then we had.
The tour was amazing. J.J. (two Js) was an incredibly nice guide. She explained everything with great patience and knowledge. We had time to explore on our own as well as getting useful information. We got lucky at the Marble Temple to witness a monk ordination and J.J. was again AWESOME!!
