4-Day Private Sightseeing Tour Cotopaxi - Quilotoa - Devil's Nose Train - Baños

Your guide will be happy to meet you at your hotel at 8 AM and take you on this 4-day private mini trip. On our first day we will make a visit to one of the most beautiful crater lakes of the country, located about 3 hours from Quito. On our way we have a great opportunity to explore a traditional indigenous fruit & vegetable market (it depends on the day itself if you are able to visit one of these markets).

Upon arrival at the Quilotoa Lake we will stop at the viewpoint and make a hike downhill towards the lake, which will take about 30 minutes. You can either hike back up or rent a mule. Back at the top we will make our way up to Lasso, which will take about 2 hours approximately. At night dinner will be served at the restaurant of the hotel. 

After breakfast it will take us less than 10 minutes to reach the entrance of the Cotopaxi National Park. The Cotopaxi is still an active and almost perfect stratovolcano with an altitude of 5.897 meters. From the entrance we will make first stop at the Cotopaxi Museum and Visitor Center and at the Limpiopungo Lake before starting your hike towards the Jose F Ribas Refuge from the parking lot at 4.500 meters. (If the weather doesn't permit this hike, we will make a hike around the Limpiopungo Lake). 

In the afternoon we will be heading to Riobamba, which will take us about 2 hours approximately. Here you will be staying the night. 

On our third day we will explore the Andes like never before! We first have to drive for one hour and a half to Alausi, from where our adventure starts. On a zigzag railroad we will descend more than 500 meters in less than 12 kilometres by train while having a mind-blowing view of the narrow gorge of river Chanchan and the Devil’s Nose Mountain. We will end this day exchanging the rustic Andes for a lush green landscape in Baños, which will take us about 3 hours. Our accommodation will be in a comfortable tourist class hotel near the town’s center. After the check-in you can relax in the natural hot springs nearby, known for their healing properties due to various minerals.

On our final day we will start with the exploration of the town visiting the pretty cathedral and try some of Baños’s famous ‘Melcocha’ candy made out of sugar cane. We continue with the waterfall route, which has many beautiful waterfalls to observe such as the Agoyan and Manto de la Novia. At both waterfalls you can take a thrilling cable-car ride across the valleys offering you a more closed up view. On this route we can also observe one of the biggest waterfalls of the area; the Pailon del Diablo. A 20 minute hike will take you to a suspension bridge from where you will have a great view of this impressive waterfall. Besides you can choose to climb up even further to stand on one of the three platforms to have a more closed up view.

In the afternoon you will make your way back to Quito, which will take us about 3 hours. The guide will leave you at your hotel.
