Went in two tapas places , The staff in both places didn't seem to bother, we waited patiently for ages then four dishes came out , A meat dish hadn't been cooked enough and the fish was chewy. We had one drink and left, on the way to the second restaurant we stopped off and tried some urch, a milk which is popular in Barcelona , this was really nice . The second restaurant was slightly more modern. You had tapas on a stick , you were allowed to choose three tapas. The tapas was serviced on a small piece of bread, a couple of mouth fulls and that was it . you also could have a drink in this restaurant. We where then taken for a dessert in a chocolate shop. , we had a cup of thick chocolate that we were expected to drink or dip fruit in it.. We payed over £200 for three of us for this trip and felt totally ripped off. The quality of the food wasn't good and neither were the restaurants.
Our guide, Olga was very knowledgeable, personable and informed us on many issues in Barcelona. She spoke very clearly (as some guides speak incoherently). We enjoyed the tour. We found the instructions to get to the guide were very difficult as the street signs are obscure and we overshot our turns several times, but finally found Olga.
Wonderful tapas, pintxos and walking tour with Olga. First stop was local tapas place with authentic tapas offerings, yum! Washed down with sangria, beer and wine. Olga explained the area, the food and the history of tapas. Next stop back to the more tourist area for pintxos. I think we all liked tapas better - but perhaps that was because we were more hungry at the first place? Olga took us via Casa Mila and explained the history and took photos great to have everyone in our group together. Dessert was next door to Casa Bartlo - hot chocolate was wonderful and tipped us over the edge into fully satisfied. Thank you Olga for commentary and a great tour. We highly recommend this tour!
Loved this Some of the best food
Very boring ! We have have 'tapas walking tours' before, and usually the guide was explaining food or wine, or even history. This lady was plain boring.... It all depends on the guide, so I would not recommend this tour at all.
This tour is more about the wine and food than the walking. Went to three different restaurants with tapas and wine from three different regions of Spain. Excellent food and wine. Definitely recommend this tour. Could have had a bit more history about the city during our walking. Also suggest that participants are provided a card listing the tapas and wine being tasted so that we can have this information for our memories. Great evening!
Since it was just the 6 of us, instead of everyone getting a full plate of each tapas, it would have been great to have more variety with each of us sharing 3 plates. Like the tour guide and each of the chosen spots.
