Experience Montserrat (5 hours)

Clients will be picked up from their hotel or cruise ship. Pick up and drop off from hotels in Barcelona city and port are included in price. 

The tour is made by a local

english speaking driver-guide, that will be with you in Montserrat the first 30 minutes to show and explain all you need to know about this unique mountain. Our driver-guides come with you to explain and show where all activities are and after that you will enjoy the mountain by youself.

In Montserrat you can visit all the following places:

Audiovisual space: An interactive corridor where on different screens explains the

history of Montserrat, the monastic life, and you will listen as well the boys choir singing a song at the end. Admission fee not included in price.

Montserrat museum: A large collection of religious art and also a rich variety of pictures by international and local well-known artists such as Dalí, Picasso, Caravaggio, El Greco... Admission fee not included in price.

Monastery: Discover the monastery of Montserrat founded in the year 1025 (romanesque style), but rebuilt in the 19th. century after the destruction during the French Revolution. Inside the monastery you can see the popular

black madonna (our lady of Montserrat) a original 12th century sculpture made in wood and you can enjoy the concert of the

boys choir at 13.00h from monday to friday and at 12.00h on sundays. Saturday is no concert, also during holiday periods the choir is not singing. Open all day except when is mass service. Free entrance.

Mountain and nature: Montserrat is unique for its rock formations, so you have the opportunity to go up the hill (1000 m. above sea level) from the monastery level with a funicular (mountain train) and enjoy the great panoramics from up there, the different shapes of the rocks and the landscape; in a clear day is possible to see the sea and the snowy Pyrenees (in winter). Admission fee not included in price.

The tour includes the drive with car or minivan from Barcelona to Montserrat monastery (aprox. 50 minutes) 3 hours of visit and the drive back. The monastery and the concert are free entrence, all other admission fees are not included (Audiovisual, museum and funicular)
