About this activity
Your private tour guide will meet you at your hotel or apartment to start off your 7-hour private experience, then you will head to the train station by public transport, where we will take the train and enjoy the Catalonian landscape on our way to Monistrol, located at the bottom of the mountain. Once there you can choose between the rack train or the cable car to get to the popular Santa María de Montserrat Abbey. From this viewpoint you will be able to take amazing pictures.
We will visit the Basilica and we will visit the Virgin of Montserrat, known as Black Madonna “La Moreneta”, a wood carving from the twelfth century, which is the patron saint of Catalonia.
During our visit to this Benedictine monastery, founded in the eleventh century, we will listen to the fantastic boys’ choir of L’Escolania de Montserrat, one of the most famous children choirs in Europe, and the oldest (fourteenth century).
After this experience we can do some hiking to an amazing viewpoint located about 25 minutes away from the monastery or watch an audiovisual to found out about the life of the monks. At the end of this experience we will have lunch to recharge our batteries and return to Barcelona.
For those who love nature and culture, this will be a great experience, for sure!
During the tour we will talk about the city's gay history, lifestyle, nightlife ... We will make sure you have all the information to fully enjoy one of the most gayfriendly cities in the world!

This is a must see when in Barcelona! Our tour guide met us at our hotel and then ferried us through by the the train and cable car in order to reach our destination. Once you get off the cable car I was in sheer amazement of the small town that in bungled into the side of the mountain. There are restaurants, museum, gift shop, a school, the actual building a hat the monks reside in overlooking the courtyard, and of course the church. We visited on Easter weekend and was treated with both the famous Boys Choir and mass. Seeing the Black Madonna is something you cannot miss. The line may look long but it was quick moving. Overall this tour is one my wife and I will do again! Thank to our guide as he was the best tour guide we had during our 3 weeks of traveling.
