About this activity
Meet your small group at Port Olímpic in Barcelona. After changing into your bathing suit (wetsuits are also provided for you to use at your own expense, if you wish), collect your kayak and paddleboard equipment and run through some of the basics about each sport with your instructor.
Learn how to slide onto your kayak, and hold the paddle correctly with some pointers for forward and backward strokes. With the paddleboard, discover how to stand without wobbling on the open water and to keep the board moving in a straight direction. Then, take to the sea to try out your techniques!
Paddle until reaching Nova Icària beach. If you can tear your eyes away from the fun on the water, take a moment to admire the scenery. While known as one of Barcelona’s top watersports destinations, Nova Icària beach itself is beautiful with a stretch of soft, beige sand framed by a leafy promenade.
Spend roughly an hour on each sport as your instructor remains nearby in the water to give advice. When your session finishes, return to Port Olímpic to get changed, shower and drop off your equipment before bidding your small group goodbye.

It was quite lovely. We enjoyed the paddle boarding. I would suggest making it clear when reserving this tour that you need an English speaking guide to orient you.
It was ok
The description of this tour didn't match at all what we had. The people in charge were very nice. But my daughter and I were left with two kayaks and paddles on our own. No small group guided. I am a kayaker, we kayak for a while and left earlier.
Really good experience, very relaxed and easy going at the centre. The place where you get the kit is similar to a leisure centre or outdoor sports centre. The only thing was that the description suggests you get tuition- this was limited as the instructor didn't even get in the water with us. Better for more confident people, but us four girls had a great time!
the instructor showed me and my sister what to do on land but as we entered the water he helped us take some pictures then left us alone. We stayed in the water for an hour paddling around but got bored alone. would have enjoyed it if there was a group of us or if the instructor kept us entertained but we had to entertain our selves. We went in Oct which is one of their quiets periods.
This was not at all like what's described. There was no instructor, no one in the water with us, nothing! Other bookings with Viator have all been outstanding but this was really disappointing. Definitely not a lesson, more like 2.5 hours of rented equipment. Do not recommend if you're not experienced with either of these sports.
