This cooking class was full of great tips, great food and many laughs. Our host was very informative and taught us all many different techniques. Was a great class. Thoroughly enjoyed it
One of the highlights of Barcelona was our Mediterranean cooking class at an apartment in Barcelona. The apartment was specifically set up to do cooking classes, so our group and four other people were in one half-day class. Our small class started by sampling tapas from different regions of Spain. Then we made a dessert and our main entree Spanish Paella. It was by far, the most exciting activity we did in Barcelona.
Our experience didn't start off that well but it got better and better as it went on. We were not provided with specific instructions as to where we would meet the rest of the group so we found ourselves waiting around in the square wondering who there might be looking for us. Eventually we were connected and headed off to the market with the group. We enjoyed the tour of the market, especially learning about the special ham and spices. The class started with us sampling a bunch of tapas. This took the edge off our hunger which allowed us to fully focus on the cooking when it was time for that. Chef Alfredo was entertaining and was really good at getting everyone involved. We were told all sorts of tips that will come in handy when we try the recipes at home. Once the cooking was complete, we all sat down to enjoy the dishes we had prepared. Everyone seemed to be having a great time.
Such a wonderful experience. Janelle was patient and fun. It’s a very small group so it feels like you’re cooking with friends and family. I would highly recommend this unique experience.
Our morning started with a tour of the market. When we returned, Alfredo had prepared tapas from the various regions of Spain, which we shared. He and and Janella then instructed us in cooking a wonderful authentic Barcelona lunch we we enjoyed.Everyone participated in the preparation. It was a delightful, fun filled morning. Highly recommend!
The class was a lot of fun. Very interactive and we learned loads about the food from the different Spanish regions.
It was wonderful experience. Worth every penny. The Chef and his assistant were very warming and taught us the way they cook the Mediterranean way. The wine was good, the food we cooked was great, and way too much for us too eat.
If you are looking for a cooking class, this is the one to choose! The entire class from start to finish was full of good conversation, socializing over good wine and of course leaning to cook several authentic Spanish dishes. I am so happy I picked this class. They also send you the recipes to you via email after the class so you can re-create the creations at home. So happy with this tour.
