Stop At: Castillo de Tossa de Mar, Tossa de Mar Spain

Tossa de Mar is a small fishing village on the Costa Brava of Spain where you find the opportunity to combine beach with leisure time and culture. Visit its spectacular Castle built between the XII and XIV centuries, it is the only medieval fortification that remains standing on the Catalan coast. Enjoy the Old Town, Its Vila Vella is the old town protected by the fortress, its appearance is like the middle ages. Visit the famous Lighthouse of Tossa de Mar its has 10 meters high and is located 70 meters above sea level. You have to stop to take a picture next to the statue of Ava Gardner, in the 50´s she made a movie in Tossa de Mar. You will Visit the Paseo Maritimo where you will find most of restaurants and shops.
The church of Sant Vicenç in the Baroque style, is a wonderfull place to visited, was built in 1176, know the Mare de Deu Chapel Socors church dating from 1593 and built by a sailor to thank for having survived a shipwreck.
Enjoy its spectacular beaches and sea coves, Playa Grande is the busiest in Tossa de Mar with 430 meters long. It is located between the medieval fortress and the natural wall which is a large rock that enters the sea.
