Private: One Day Excursion to the Pyrenees

08:00 am : Pick-up at the hotel. English-speaking driver-guide with minivan. 09:45 am: Arrival at Queralbs. This beautiful village located at the foothill of the highest peak of the Catalan pyrenees, the Puigmal, still preserves its rural flavor. There you will take the rack train to Vall de Nuria. The rack train was inaugurated in 1931, allowing an easy and quick access to the Valley, and goes up for around 1000 meters in the 12km ride passing through beautiful waterfalls and forests and ending at the Shrine of Nuria, where the Madonna from the 11th Century was found: Our Lady of Nuria, almost as venerated as Montserrat for the Catalan people. 10:00 to 13:00pm: Enjoy the pure air of the Pyrenees, calm and relax and/or take part in some of the many activities* offered around. (*availability depends on the time of the year). 13:00 pm: Rack train back to Queralbs where you will enjoy a tasty traditional Catalan lunch* (*please advise any food restrictions) 15:00 pm: 30 minutes-drive to Ripoll 15:30pm to 16:30pm: Visit Ripoll, cradle of the Catalan nation. A must in Ripoll is to visit the Monastery of Santa Maria, a Medieval Jewel in terms of Art & History. After the visit to the Monastery you will head to Vic. 17:00 to 18:00 pm : Stop in Vic. This beautiful town at the heart of Catalunya has a huge porticoed and beautiful square, located amongst the narrow medieval streets that still preserve the traditional local shops and awesome art masterpieces like the Cathedral of Vic. After walking around the Old Town, admiring the beautiful paintings inside the Cathedral and have a coffee at the main square, you will head back to Barcelona. 18:00 to 19:00 pm: Drive back to Barcelona and drop off at your hotel.
