Private Small Group Full Day Tour- Montserrat and Cava Visit with Lunch and Transportation

Start your guided tour to Montserrat with personal pick-up from your accommodation in Barcelona, meet your local guide and settle into your private, air conditioned coach for the scenic 45-minute drive to Montserrat. Venerate impressive views of the Catalan countryside during your journey to Montserrat. After an introduction from your guide, enjoy around 2.5 hours to explore Montserrat independently. Take the chance and visit the monastery with it’s Black Madonna, ride the funicular or cable car (own expense) to the Holy Cave or enjoy relaxing walks on the top of Montserrat with awesome views.

After jump back in your coach and head to a traditional and first class restaurant of the Penedes region, savour a complete lunch with first and second course, desert, coffee and drinks and special courses will be offered to the children. Once you have finished your lunch get back to the coach and head to a traditional and family owned winery with hundreds of years of history. The Estate is located in the middle of the plain of the Penedès, only 40 minutes from Barcelona and Tarragona. This is a privileged spot in which the beauty of the landscape captivates visitors.

Meet the local house guide who will receive you when you arrive at the Estate, the visit for the adults begins in the vineyards, some are more than 65 years old, you will be shown the house, the winery, and the original cellar built in 1943. Tour with the guide through the main stages of the process of elaboration of cava and visit the cellar at a depth of more than 20 m, where the bottles are resting and you will have the chance to witness the second fermentation. Finish the tour with a tasting of a selection of Cavas Gran Reserva.

The younger members of the family (4 to 12) will participate in a treasure hunt around the winery and vineyards, guided by a specialized monitor, in groups of five to twelve children, they will be solving the riddles of a mystery story, while they learn in an entertaining way how the vineyard is worked, and how wine and cava are produced. Finally, they will enjoy a pairing of chocolate and grape juice from the vines that they have trampled.
