Meet up with your private guide at your Barcelona hotel and head 45 minutes outside the city to the mountainous region of Montserrat. One of the most famous destinations in Catalonia, the mountain offers unforgettable panoramic views.

After climbing to the top of the mountain, visit the Benedictine abbey Santa Maria de Montserrat, home to the Virgin of Montserrat (also known as the black Madonna). Thousands of pilgrims come here every year to visit the Virgin and soak in the breathtaking views. Spend about 2.5 hours exploring on your own before grabbing lunch (own expense).

Next, head to the Penedés wine region, the heart of Catalonia’s cava production. Learn about the history and process of making the sparkling wine and take a tour through the huge underground cellars and the vineyards. After the tour, enjoy a guided tasting of cava with the option to purchase bottles to take home. At the end of the day the guide will drop you off back at your hotel in Barcelona.
