The Fundació Joan Miró is a living center, open to the world, where you can discover and explore the work of Joan Miró and other artists. Described by Miró as “an open, radiant architecture focused on the vision of art and the contemplation of nature: a garden for everybody,” the museum is a space where the boundaries between art, architecture, and landscape blur. The collection on display offers an overview of the different stages of Miró’s oeuvre and the different media that he worked with in the course of his career. It is one of the most comprehensive collections of his work anywhere in the world.

Miró's contact with avant-garde movements, his links to surrealism, and the influence of poetry led him to develop a unique, intensely personal language through which he expressed his vision of the world. In addition to the collection, the Fundació Joan Miró organizes temporary shows, exhibitions of the work of emerging artists at Espai 13, and activities for audiences of all ages.
