We enjoyed our trip and our guide (Mr. Andre) hasba vast knowledge of the city. He made the tour worth it.
This tour is a must of you are staying in Barcelona for a few days. The maximum number of people on this tour was eight. Tarragona is a one hour drive from Barcelona. However, the area we travelled through made the travel time seem a lot less. Our guide was excellent and his passion of the history showed through his narrative. Walking into the theatre where the chariot races took place gave me goose bumps.
This trip was a very informative and interesting visit to the ancient Roman capital of the area. The visit to the Roman aqueduct, the amphitheater, and Roman Circus were facinating!
Recommended. Very knowledgeable guide, you learn a lot about the history of the region and she made sure we saw all the must-see placesl
What a wonderful tour. We saw all the Roman ruins with a very knowledgeable guide. We were picked up at our hotel at the appointed time. We'll worth doing.
My wife and i had a half-day tour to Tarragona and thoroughly enjoyed it. Though we were booked on a group tour, we two happened to be the only guests that day, so it became a Private Tour!! We were picked up on time by Kurt on time and drove to Tarragona. The city is know for its Roman ruins, which have been preserved very carefully by the authorities. You can see a Colosseum where, animal fights were held in the third century. Besides that we also enjoyed walking through the ruins of the fort, from where the view of the colosseum and the sea in breathtaking. Kurt was a very knowledgeable and helpful guide. I would strongly recommend to spend half a day visiting Tarragona if you are in Barcelona any time.
First, it is important to know that this was not a half-day trip. We were picked up at 9:00 and did not return until 4:30. It's up to you to decide if Roman ruins are that important to you, but we had other plans for the afternoon that we missed. Even then, we felt rushed at each stop. That may have partly been because we were reluctant to get back into the car as we were four North Americans squeezed into a little car with the guide. The varied sights were interesting, and Tarragona is a beautiful location on the beach. Our guide was knowledgable. She was also kind enough to help me with a stop at the pharmacy.
This tour was amazing - esp. because of our guide Nuria who was extremely knowledgeable about all the sights and went out of her way to make our day extra special. We recommend that tourists request Nuria for their next tour - Tarragona or other. The sites: spectacular and well worth visiting.
The ruins here were amazing. It was very interesting to see what was clearly once an important Roman city. Very different than other cities that we visited in Catalonia. We also really liked that it was such a small group, only 5. I can't imagine walking around with a larger group.
Great tour!! We actually met up with this tour in Tarragona since we were staying close by. Our tour guide Vincente was excellent!! We learned so much about this city and it's history!
