About this activity
The tour starts in the morning or afternoon at the Bath Abbey in the city center, where you will meet your guide and begin with a string of sites including Pulteney Bridge and Bath Abbey, the site of the coronation of the first King of England in 973. You then proceed to the first highlight of the tour, the Roman Baths. Your guide will lead the group into the Baths (if option selected) to see the fascinating items and legacies left in Bath by the Romans during their occupation of the area, and to witness the miraculous phenomenon of Bath's hot geothermal springs.
In the second half of the tour, you will also take in the enchanting Georgian architecture of this charming town. From the magnificent Royal Crescent to the mysterious Circus, you see the best of the pomp and luxury of the 18th century. We proceed from the central Pump Rooms to the lavish Upper Assembly Rooms and, finally, arrive at the sumptuous Royal Crescent and the mysterious Circus, Bath offers a stunning variety of breathtaking architectural gems.
The tour has been specially devised to show you the very best of the Bath. The guides are fun, engaging local professionals who will make the city’s history truly accessible for visitors of all ages. They are not going to throw a list of dates and facts at you. The guides know their stuff, but they also know how to explain it without putting you to sleep.

This tour was amazing!
Very interesting, well presented and interactive site. Ancient remains with audio guide that can be run as you wish, you choose what you want to learn more abaout. Fascinating and good for children too.
Great tour! Recommend!
Our tour guide was Pablo. He was an excellent tour guide. We were a family of 2 adults and 2 kids aged 6 and 7 with 2 other couples included in our group. We were slightly delayed starting the tour because it started at the Roman Baths and they were having an electrical issue so they weren't letting anyone in for a few minutes. Pablo gave us approximately 1 hour inside the Roman Baths even though he could not come in with us. We didn't get to visit the museum because of the electrical issue but with just 1 hour we were doing good to get thru the outside portions anyway. Wish that we would have had time/opportunity to visit the museum portion. Pablo was very knowledgeable regarding the buildings and architecture of Bath. I feel that he took us by more places than what was mentioned on the website so that was very nice of him. By the time we made it back to the abbey it was past our allotted time, but he still took the time to walk thru the abbey with us and point out a few things. Pablo was a great tour guide and I would definitely recommend him.
My wife and I booked this trip so we could see Bath rather than wander around aimlessly. That was a wise decision! Our travel guide Rob was a 19 year old student at Bath Uni. A really nice bloke cockney speak! who was able to dialogue across a wide range of tourist ages very well indeed. He was friendly, attentive and provided an intelligent social dialogue to all of us tourists. He did a great job and we were pleased with the tour. Ok...things that could be added...probably more history of Bath with some earlier architecture or older city buildings before the main architect other than just John Wood please. Maybe some really old pubs with their internal lath and plaster walls.etc etc... On balance a good tour with a really good young tour guide! Well done viator and Rob! best regards Stuart and Kathy
