Bay of Islands Tall Ship Sundowner Sailing

This late afternoon sail is an excellent option for visitors wishing to enjoy a special experience before their evening meal.

Step on board Northland’s iconic tall ship the R. Tucker Thompson for a relaxing sail in the inner Bay. Get involved and help us hoist the sails, then once we are underway, sit back and relax as we pass around a shared antipasto platter. Enjoy a drink from our cash bar and experience the beauty of a traditionally rigged vessel under sail.

If you're adventurous, there's time for you to grab a harness and climb up the rigging. For the more romantically inclined, head out to the bowsprit and create your own memories.

Operating on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, this short 2-hour experience departs Russell Wharf at 4pm, returning shortly before 6pm. Light finger food is included and a cash bar is available, so enjoy a glass of wine while the sun goes down - the perfect way to start your evening.

Ferries to Russell are included in the ticket price so why not head over early and spend an afternoon discovering this historic village and dine in one of the many excellent restaurants after your sail.
