About this activity
Once you have arrived at the rock, after passing through the Porte du Boulevard, then the Porte du Roy on the drawbridge, you can discover the Grande Rue with its museums, shops, restaurants and houses from the 15th and 16th centuries. The Grand Degré (staircase which leads to the abbey) leads onto the Merveille (the Gothic buildings on the north face) and a visit to the Abbey. After visiting the church, the cloister suspended between sky and sea and the refectory, you can contemplate the incomparable beauty of the Bay, descending via the Chemin des Remparts, or by choosing the Chemin de Ronde, interspersed with small gardens.

Great experience. But sadly we didn't realize that it was a holiday in France and so very crowded which made it a bit unpleasant. Maybe you could have company advise that it is a holiday so that we can change days if possible.
This is a not-to-miss tour of this historic abbey on an amazing rock island. Our tour with Caroline was excellent and she was very knowledgeable of all the history of the abbey and the surrounding village.
Aurelia, our fantastic guide, arrived on time and escorted us to Mont San Michel. She was a sheer pleasure, smart, and very well informed on the history of San Michel and shared info on DDay. We loved being with her and picking her brain. Great day!
An excellent tour! Orillia our guide was knowledgeable and passionate about the history of the Abbey. She managed to keep three teenage boys interested the entire time. An easy drive there and back. A definite must do tour. When we got back we still had time to see the Bayeux Tapestry so a great day of history.
