About this activity
Greet your private guide and personal driver at your downtown Beijing hotel by 9am. Your first stop is the National Center for the Performing Arts, affectionately known as “The Egg” because it looks like an egg floating on water.
From here, it's about a 40-minute drive to Beijing's art epicenter, 798 Art Zone. This dynamic warehouse district is packed with galleries, art centers, artists' studios, design companies, restaurants, and bars: your guide will be happy to take you to areas that suit your interest.
Your guide will recommend a good restaurant for you to have lunch, which is at your own expense: relax with some fine food as you soak up the atmosphere.
From here, you'll head back into the city center, to Nanluoguxiang, a historic street where the narrow alleyways make excellent photographic material and a great place to pick up quirky souvenirs.
As you transfer back to your hotel, you'll stop at the CCTV Headquarters Building. Designed by Rem Koolhaas, this stunning and sculptural edifice signifies modern, vibrant Beijing, as well as the importance of the TV industry. You can take some pictures here, before returning to your hotel around 5pm.

This was a great tour with a great guide Annie that spoke and understood English very well. 798 Art Zone was of course the highlight, but visiting the hutong and the National Center for Performing Arts was great too.
