For this group tour, you'll be picked up from your hotel around 6:30 - 8:00 am. Mutianyu Great Wall is in Huairou country located about 45 miles north of central Beijing. Enjoy this 1 1/2 to 2-hour drive as your guide will talk about the Chinese history and culture of the great wall along the way.
The Great Wall is the longest wall in the world and an awe-inspiring feat of ancient defensive architecture. Mutianyu is the longest fully restored Great Wall section that is open to visitors. It is less crowded and has better architecture with more watchtowers for your enjoyment. You'll hike and explore this best preserved Great Wall section. During your hike, you'll be able to capture a lot of the beautiful scenery of this Great Wall on camera as you'll have a lot of time to explore.
Next, you'll be driven to a local restaurant where you will have a late lunch. After lunch, you'll have time to relax and enjoy the scenery as you are driven back to downtown and drop off at nearby subway station, you can take subway or taxi to your destination.

Trip itself to the wall was great, but after discovering that I had paid 100 more for the trip than people, it took the shine off it. Essentially it was just a bus ride with lunch included, and at 50 of the price I paid was a great deal more acceptable to the palate. Overpriced.
