Berlin private walking tour
Enjoy a stroll to some of Berlin’s famous sites. During this 2-hour private guided tour you will get to know the history of Germany’s capital. The tour starts at the most known symbol of Berlin: the Brandenburg Gate. From here you will walk along the famous Berliner avenue Unter der Linden until the Schlossbrücke bridge, where you will get a nice view of the Berlin Cathedral, one of the main attractions of the Museum Island, as well as the famous television tower in the background.
Then you double back to see the State Opera and the Humboldt University of Berlin, one of Berlin’s oldest universities and with its 40 Nobel Prize winners considered as one of the best in Europe. On your way you will also pass the Neue Wache neoclassical building that today serves as the Central Memorial Building for the Victims of War and Dictatorship.
Next stop will be the Gendarmenmarkt, the “most beautiful square in Berlin”. After this beautiful spot, time to head out along the shopping street of Friedrichstraße, until you reach the final destination of the walking tour: Checkpoint Charlie, once a simple military station to allow the passage from foreigners and members of the allied forces to move from and to West and East Germany.
