After World War II, the seriously damaged cathedral was reconstructed, and now it has a more modest height of 98 meters (slightly less than St. Isaac's Cathedral in St. Petersburg). Solemnly opened on June 6, 1993. The crypt of the Hohenzollern dynasty is also open for visitors, where 70 of the 89 surviving burials are represented; among them is the magnificent sarcophagus of the Great Elector and his wife Dorothea.
