The Warehouse: 2 Dives
4 h
About this activity
The Warehouse is rumoured to have been named after a now-defunct brothel. This very calm dive site is adjacent to an airport runway and is protected by the wind by the lee of Isla Colon. The sloping reef stretches around the island and houses northern stargazers, southern, yellow and eagle rays and a large number of sea urchins. Under a ten-minute boat ride from BDC, you will be able to witness an eclectic selection of vivid marine life here. This site is either named for the now-defunct brothel across the bay, or the fact that the site lies in the lee of Isla Colon, adjacent to the airport runway. The water here is usually the calmest of all dive sites and covers a sloping reef which stretches around the base of the island. Sandy plains down to 6m are home to northern stargazers, southern/yellow/eagle rays and an amazing abundance of urchins. A wide variety of life can be found here, if you take it slowly. When the tide is right, its possible to end this dive at another popular site, The Wreck.
