Day 1: Bogotá - Villa de Leyva
Stop At: Bogota, Colombia
The tour starts by picking you up at your hotel at 7:00 am. After a 3 hour drive, you will arrive at Villa de Leyva and tour the main highlights such as the enormous Plaza Mayor and Villa de Leyva's Cathedral with our knowledgeable guide.
Duration: 3 hours
Stop At: Villa de Leyva, Boyaca, Colombia
After visiting the village you will go to El Infiernito (little hell), an ancient Muisca observatory used to calculate the optimal time for harvesting. Then you will head to the blue ponds, some vivid blue water reservoirs in the middle of the desert that contrast beautifully with the arid soil and vegetation around it. Optionally, you can visit the 7M long fossil of a Kronosaurus; a predatory dinosaur that lived 120 million years ago when this area was submerged under the ancient Atlantic Ocean.
Once you finish the guided tour on your arrival day, you will be dropped off at a beautiful cozy hotel, located a few minutes away from Plaza Mayor.

Day 2: Villa de Leyva
Stop At: Villa de Leyva, Boyaca, Colombia
On the second day, you are free to explore the village and surroundings by yourself or we can help you arrange any activity of your preference (not included in price). Activities can vary from hiking to natural parks, to buggy races, horseback riding, bird watching, or visiting archaeological sites and museums.
Duration: 8 hours

Day 3: Villa de Lyeva - Bogotá
Stop At: Villa de Leyva, Boyaca, Colombia
On the third day, our driver will pick you up at the hotel at 11:00 am. You will return to Bogotá via Ráquira, which is a picturesque village that has become famous due to its long tradition of pottery work. You will make a stop for lunch there and have enough time to walk through town. (Lunch not included in price).

Alberto the driver and David the guide were great. The hotel staff were very nice but the hotel itself just OK. The town was a pleasure to see. More info on options of stops and hotels should be available BEFORE, to make better plans.
Our guide, David, was fun, spoke English well and took us to many interesting places on the way to the village . Our stay in the village was relaxing and a good respite from heavy traveling.
