Guatavita Sacred Lagoon from Bogota Private Tour FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE

Just an hour and a half away north of Bogota in a private tour, going through the majestic andenian mountain chains we will get to see one of the most powerful places for our indigenous, the Muiscas, : The Lagoon of the king of Guatavita and Cuchilla de Peña Blanca. In this spot is where the Colombian legend of “El Dorado” is born. In here we will understand the way the Muiscas used to conceive the universe and the world, we will learn about the tradition and the ways the indigenous used to live walking though the reserve of Guatavita, opened to public by 2006, after a total recover of the nature in the area that was done between 2000 and 2006.

 After an amazing walk in the mountain we will get to see the wide and beautiful lagoon, the habitat for the “guapucha” fish and the giant worm from the paramo.

Later on our way, we will get to visit the city of Guatavita the new one, a town built around the sixties after the relocation of its population from them first town Guatavita the old one, located now under the Tominé reservoir
