Sibiu Day Trip from Brasov

Thanks to my guide Florin, the excursion was excellent. Everything was in a pleasant, friendly atmosphere and without haste. I learned about a rural architecture and visited two families, which use water mills for several generations. The first is for grind flour in Sinca Veche and the second is for washing and producing of carpets in Lisa, a mystical place with temple of desires, Sinca Veche Monastery. I climbed the tower of oldest Gothic monuments from Romania, Cistercian Abbey of Carta, from the height of the tower Turnul Sfatului looked around the small houses with cute roofs of the old town in Sibiu and walked through the Podul Mincinilor, two squares, visited several cathedrals, old walls and had a lunch with traditional food on one of the squares. On the way back to Brasov was Fagaras Fortress with museum inside coins, seals, icons, paintings, furniture, national costumes.

This tour was interesting and pleasant. Before reaching the medieval city of Sibiu, we admired some not so well known sites of this region which is full of history: the church in the Saxon village of Ghimbav, the ruins of the early-Gothic Cârţa Monastery, the refuge of the Orthodox monks at the Şinca Veche Monastery, the Făgăraş Citadel. A special mention about our guide Florin who is knowledgeable, efficient and polite. We recommend this tour!

This day trip was pleasant and interesting. The tour was great. Sibiu is an interesting city and we made many stops along the way. The guide was really nice telling me everithing about pertinent abou Romania.
