We loved this park and devoted most of a day to it. We drove from Brisbane, which is a very quick and easy drive. I highly recommend watching the Koala's right before feeding time when all the eucalyptus trees are swapped out in their pens. The koala's were so active and showed their personalities. We watched for an hour! We attended all the "keeper talks", which were very short and really not worth hanging around for unless you are there anyway. The raptor show, the sheep dog show were both fun to watch! And of course, we held a koala for $25. We found that price to be about the same throughout Queensland. The cafe is lacking, mostly fried fish/chips and chicken nuggets. No salads to speak of.
Holding a koala, feeding and petting kangaroos and wallabies, wizzing around with Tasmanian devils, going batty with fruit bats and visiting with emus, Lone Pine is a bucket list experience! Staff were friendly and informative. I recommend this Sanctuary highly! As a solo traveler I felt safe and got to mingle with lots of locals as well.
A fantastic place to visit, great for Adults and children a wonderful day out. The price we got from Viator was a lot cheaper than the on the door price.
Loved this small zoo! So awesome to be able to be up close to the animals, holding a koala and feeding and petting the kangaroos, wallabies and emus!
