Three of us just had an enjoyable tour with Stefan as our private guide. Our flight from Hong Kong is delayed for one day. However, Stefan and Mihai are able to rework out itinerary very nicely to catch up most important spots. Of course, I had to say Stefan drives very well. He is very considerate to make sure we see the best, we hear the story, we have good food, wine and ice-cream ! Transylvania got a lot to offer ... it's fresh air, history, churches and architectures. I personally enjoyed it much more than Bucharest city.
5 star! Our tourguide Mihai was the best. He is always punctual and very knowledgeable about Romania. We are very happy we did this tour and didnt regret one bit. We saw many nice places which we cant see if we explored by ourselves. I can only recommend a this private tour. It was worth it and we experienced a lot more than what we expected. Thanks Mihai. Best tourguide ever :
We traveled off season early December because this trip was combined with some other sightseeing. Turns out this was a great time to visit Transylvania. There were almost no crowds, only exception was Brasov which was the opening night of their Christmas Market. Wonderful vibe to the town. The other advantage to off-season is that the tour guarantees 3 accommodations. Most nights we stayed at a 4 place because the rates had been dropped for the off season. They were all interesting small hotels inside the walls of the various towns we stayed in, Sibui, Sighosoara, and Brasov. We did get lucky on the weather with only a dusting of snow, which did not slow down our tour guide Mihai. Cannot say enough good things about Mihai. Took exceptional care of us and was always happy to explain the history and culture of the local area, as well as explaining the more recent history and its impact on Transylvania and Romania as a whole. Additionally, he took time at the end of the trip to go over the map of Bucharest and helped us lay out our remaining time in the city, as well as calling to set up a tour for us at the Palace of the Parliament. I would recommend small suitcases to fit into Mihai's car and to get up some of the narrow staircases. Do not expect a lot of English on the menus and signs in Transylvania. Bucharest is more set up for international visitors.
We were lucky to have Mihai as our tour guide for the 4-day trip in Romania. He is a cautious and safe driver and has good knowledge of the culture and history of Romania. He also went beyond his duty to accommodate our needs. The meal Mihai arranged for our group at a secluded village near nature in Floresti was absolutely delicious. We all had a great time during our holiday. We highly recommend him to anyone who is planning to visit and explore Romania. Ray, Anna and James.
