About this activity
Day 1: Arrival in Bucharest, check-in at your 4* hotel. Meet your guide for dinner in the hotel.
Day 2: Departure to Curtea de Arges (lunch), visit the Episcopal Church. Drive to Sibiu, one of the oldest cities in Transylvania, founded by the Saxon colonists. Walking tour of the medieval town. Depart to Sibiel - Museum of Icons. Dinner and accommodation in Sibiel.
Day 3: Departure to Sighisoara, birthplace of Vlad the Impaler en route, visit the fortified Church of Biertan. Arrival in Sighisoara. Visit the Medieval Citadel (UNESCO World Heritage): Clock Tower, Church on the Hill, roofed stairways and enjoy lunch. Continue to Targu Mures and Bistrita, one of the seven medieval cities in Transylvania. Dinner and overnight stay in a 3*/4* hotel.
Day 4: Departure to Bucovina, home of the unique painted monasteries (UNESCO World Heritage). Visit the Wood Museum in Campulung Moldovenesc. Lunch in a local restaurant. Visit the Moldovita Monastery and Lucia CONDREA’s workshop, the famous creator of painted eggs, as well as the village of Vatra Moldovitei, with its traditional small houses and the old steam train named "Mocanita". Dinner and overnight in Gura Humorului.
Day 5: Visit Voronet Monastery also called "The Sistine Chapel of the East". Arrive in the Village of Tarpesti - home of the delightful "Neculai Popa" Museum. Afterwards, we visit the monasteries Varatec and Agapia. Lunch in a local guesthouse. In the afternoon, drive along the Bicaz Lake to Lacu Rosu (Red Lake). Dinner and overnight in Lacu Rosul or Miercurea Ciuc.
Day 6: Departure to Brasov. Stop at Prejmer fortified church, also included in the UNESCO World Heritage. Drive on to Bran, lunch in a
local restaurant. Visit "Dracula's" Castle, built as a fortress for the citizens of Brasov in 1377, to defend the city. Arrival in Brasov also founded by the Saxon colonists. Walking tour through the old town center, including the Black Church - the biggest Gothic church between Istanbul and Vienna and the Council Square. Overnight in Brasov at a 3* hotel. No dinner included on this day.
Day 7: In the morning, we cross the Carpathians toward Sinaia. Visit the Peles Castle, one of the most spectacular castles in Europe. Lunch in a local restaurant. Panoramic tour of Bucharest. Visit the House of Parliament, the second largest building in the world. Farewell dinner in a lovely brasserie. Overnight: 4* hotel in Bucharest.
Day 8: Your tour ends after breakfast and check-out.
