About this activity
Day 1. Two Castles and Brasov City
At 8:00 a.m. we will pick you up from your hotel and start our journey towards the mountain region to discover a valley that was deeply loved by the romanian royal family. We will stop in Sinaia resort and visit the marvelous Peles Castle and the enchanting Sinaia Monastery. Then we move on towards another marking monument in the romanian landscape, the Bran Castle, or also known as Dracula Castle. We will have here enough time to unravel all its mysteries and learn more about its legends and history.
After we've seen these important landmarks, we will arrive in one of Romania's most beautiful towns, a town which lies right at the feet of the mountains: Brasov. The city was built by saxons and was remarkably preserved throughout time, housing now Romania's biggest gothic church, named The Black Church after a major fire. Once we've learned the stories that this beautiful city has to offer, we can enjoy a well-deserved leisure break in the old town. Accommodation follows in Brasov city.
Day 2. Transfagarasan Road
In the morning after breakfast we will head towards the Fagaras mountains, the highest of the Romanian Carpathians. We will enter Romania's most beautiful road, named by Top Gear "the best road in the world", the Transfagarasan, second-highest road in Romania. The road reaches his highest point of 2034 m at the Balea Lake, after passing through Romania's longest road tunnel, the Capra Tunnel. Here we will have an hour break to enjoy the beauty of this place.
Now we continue our tour to the northern regions of Arges Country and step into the marvelous landscape of the mountains. Here we make a new stop at the foot of the Poenari Citadel, a stronghold that became famous due to Vlad the Impaler and Dracula Legend. We will now head back towards Bucharest city, with one last stop on the way in the town named Curtea de Arges, at the bottom of the Fagaras Mountains, where we will visit one of the most remarkable monasteries in Romania.
We will end the tour in Bucharest with private drop-off at your hotel.
Please Notice: Peles Castle is closed on mondays, so we will visit Rasnov citadel instead
