The lower floor is constructed of stone, the upper floor and living quarters are timber construction. Stairs are internal as an extra security precaution. The winter rooms were heated by large built in stoves (known as dzhamal) which were fed and cleaned from a separate service access. There is even an internal toilet (hole in the floor), a luxury many homes in the neighbouring villages do not have to this day. On the ground floor where the store rooms and living quarters for the servants would have been, there is a large souvenir shop.
The Arbanasi village it is known for the rich history and large number of historical monuments, such as 17th- and 18th-century churches and examples of Bulgarian National Revival architecture, which have turned it into a popular tourist destination.
