Day 4: Sibiu-Shighisoara-Cluj Napoca (4h20 min drive)

Walking tour of Sibiu oldtown.

Visit Biertan fortified church (UNESCO Heritage).

Sighisoara walking tour, Vlad the Impaler's birthplace. Visit the medieval citadel, the Clock Tower, the Church on the Hill.

Day 5: Cluj Napoca-Surdesti-Sapanta-Sighet-Maramures (4h drive)

Visit Surdesti wooden church, UNESCO site.

Visit the Merry Cemetery with carved and painted crosses on which the artisan has chiseled out versified epitaphs.

Visit Peri Convent, the tallest wooden structure in the world and Sighet communist prison.

Enjoy a traditional dinner and meet a local family.

Overnight in Maramures village: guest house, rooms with private bathroom

Day 6: Maramures-Barsana-Bucovina (5h drive)

Visit the house of a local wood carver.

Visit Barsana Convent.

Visit Moldovita and Sucevita Convents (UNESCO Monuments).

Day 7: Bucovina-Bicaz-Szeklerland (5h40min drive)

Visit Voronet Convent (UNESCO Monuments).

Drive to the core of the Hungarian minority, in Szeklerland.

Scenic drive along Bicaz Gorge, stop at the Red Lake.

Day 8: Szeklerland-Brasov-Bran-Sinaia-Bucharest (5h drive)

Day 9: BUCHAREST (RO) – RUSE (BG) – ARBANASSI – VELIKO TARNOVO – PLOVDIV (5h50min drive)

In the evening, transfer to Plovdiv.
