The tour starts at your hotel at 9.30 and will take you to the Heroes’ Square, where the statues provide brilliant illustrations of Hungarian history, continue to the City Park with a romantic castle and lake, the Széchenyi Bath’s entrance hall with beautiful decorations, where you will learn about the thermal baths of Budapest. You will enjoy coffee and cake in one of the cafés on the elegant Andrássy Avenue, next to the Opera, while discussing about the vivid culture of coffeehouses in the 1900s’. After visiting the St.Stephen Basilica with its unique altar and relic we take a bus to the Castle Hill on Buda. Crossing the Chain Bridge you will be amazed by the Danube, the bridges and their stories, how they were built and rebuilt in the previous centuries. In the Castle District you will hear the fascinating history of the Royal Palace and the Matthias Church with its coloured roof. You will enjoy the splendid view of Parliament and the buildings of Pest, while staring out from Fishermen’s Bastion. My husband and I had a great tour far beyond what most would provide with Gabriella. She's genuinely enthusiastic for you to learn about Budapest and share her enthusiasm for the city. We walked and traveled all over even beyond our scheduled time and she put us on the appropriate bus to get back to our hotel which we appreciated as first time visitors. She even purchased 3 different desserts so we'd get a chance to try to cakes the city is known for. It would be hard not to love Budapest!

Gabriela is the most accommodating guide I've ever met, Viator didn't do a good job in providing my contact details to her, but when I called her the morning of the tour, she came immediately to me even though she never receive any pick-up detail from viator. I was extremely grateful for this! She's so knowledgable and patient, and she shares the history of Budapest enthusiastically and you can see that she's really passionate about her job. What's most amazing about her is she recommends me what to do in the remainder of my stay based on my preference. She's a great coffee-lover and can recommend you the most hidden coffee spots!
