Etyek Wine Tour and Meal with Chocolate Tastings

About this activity
Book your chosen morning or afternoon tour option, and meet your driver-guide at your centrally located Budapest hotel. Then, travel by air-conditioned minivan to the picturesque Etyek wine region, the youngest and fastest-growing wine area in Hungary. As you travel, admire the vine-covered hills and learn about the white and sparkling wine produced in Etyek, your destination of the day.
On arrival, start your explorations with your choice of culinary experience: a visit to either a chocolate or a cheese workshop. If chocolate is your thing, learn about the different flavors of cocoa beans from around the world, and see how the workshop crafts high quality dark chocolate. Then, have a go yourself: blending, smoothing and molding your own chocolate treats, guided by the chocolatier. Alternatively, meet a cheese-maker to discover what production processes are used to create the workshop’s fine cheese. Both options include samples of wine to complement the chocolate or cheese.
After your tastings, continue your tour with a visit to a traditional wine cellar or wine estate on the 10am tour and even two on the 4pm tour. Tour the cellars, learn how the wine is cultivated and aged, and sip on four tantalizing varietals at each venue. At the last winery, sit down to a hearty 2-course lunch or dinner, paired with wine. Then, finish with a coffee (own expense) before returning to your Budapest hotel.

This small group tour was a fun trip from Budapest. The chocolate tasting, and small winery visits and fun meal we’re all memorable. I would not hesitate to do it again!
This tour was awesome! Suzanna was a great guide. We went to a local home where we tasted SO much delicious chocolate. From there we went on to a local winery that was also run out of the family's personal home. This was such a cool experience because we got to talk to and meet a local's family and the winery is so small that only 760 bottles of some of the wine are made. It was a great tour and I highly recommend it!

My sister and I had such a fun time! The guide, Julia was amazing and so enthusiastic. The chocolate tasting, making and learning provided by Godo Viktoria, combined with the different wines were interesting and Yummy and has changed how I enjoy good chocolate. The vineyards and wine cellar we visited were really fun and beautiful. And, the celebratory dinner with the other guests, who were so enjoyable they made it worthwhile in themselves was delicious with excellent wines. This was one of the highlights of my trip to Hungary and I highly recommend this trip, the guide and this company very highly. I will book with Viator again on my next international trip. Thank you!
