I rarely write a poor review but in this case I think it is called for. I was picked up on time by a taxi for the trip to the Parliament building. I noticed the meter was on and, sure enough. the taxi driver demanded that I pay the fare. I told him the fare was included. He then said if I didn't pay he would call the police. As I was looking for a number for him to call he finally got on the phone and spoke to someone who must have told him the taxi trip was included. He then told me to "get out" . I had to ask several people where the entrance to the Parliament was located. That info was not included (there is one underground entrance). After entering I saw a man and woman with a sign in English for the English tour at the time I was booked. They purchased the ticket and told me to stand in line. I thought they were going to be the guide but that wasn't the case. I simply followed everyone else scheduled at that time into the Parliament building. The Parliament is worth seeing and the tour guide was interesting and knowledgeable. In conclusion I'd could have gone and purchased a ticket on my own (as most people were doing) with much less hassle and confusion. It's even more aggravating when you have to pay almost double the price of people who are members of the European Community.
We had some difficulty booking a Parliament Tour as we left it rather late but managed it eventually. We didn't really need a pick-up as our hotel was only a 20 minute walk away, but we couldn't find a tour that didn't include one. Although our instructions said to wait in the hotel reception, the taxi driver didn't come in, so we were waiting inside and thought he was a bit late but he was just waiting outside for us. The 45 minute tour was well organised and the tour guide was excellent - both informative and with a touch of humour. The Parliament building is magnificent, both inside and outside - and we caught a changing of the guard while we were there. We'd certainly recommend doing a tour!
