Stop At: BudapestRolling, Jokai utca 40. Nomadsport, Budapest 1066 Hungary
Our tour starts from the Matthias Church. Behind the church is the Fisherman’s Bastion from where a breathtakingly beautiful view over the Danube and the House of Parliament is guaranteed. From there we are going to make our way along medieval style, spooky streets and lanes to the Tower of Mária-Magdolna and the building of the Military History Institute and Museum. Then we will walk along Tóth Árpád promenade with its emblematic chestnut trees and medieval impression to the equestrian statue of Görgei Artúr who played an important role as a general during the Hungarian Revolution of 1848-49. From the promenade one can enjoy a nice view over the hills of Buda. Having seen it we are going further south to Sándor Palace where the President of Hungary resides. Finally, we are going to the Hungarian National Gallery where great Hungarian artists’ works of the fine arts can be seen, as well as other foreign artists’ temporary exhibitions such as Frida Kahlo or Vincent van Gogh. Our tour comes to an end by tasting a delicious Hungarian cake and a life-saving coffee at a bar.
