About this activity
Tapas are a very characteristic part of Spanish eating and play a central role in Cadiz's gastronomic scene. What started as a bite to go with your drink, today has become into a whole way of eating, a gastronomic culture itself, more than a particular type of food it is about finger food or small portions to share with friends and family.
Meet your enthusiastic guide at a central location and start your way through three of the city’s most unique local tapas bars, from the most traditional to the new and modern.
Your first step is the amazing local Food Market, the best place to start learning about Cadiz’s gastronomy, the market is truly a food lover’s dream, and a visit to Cadiz is not complete without slowly making your way through its stalls.
Next, you are going to taste the real “pescaíto frito” at the most traditional of Cadiz’s fried fish bar, “Tortillitas de Camarones” (Shrimp Fritters) and “Cazón en adobo”(Fried Dogfish) are just the first bite to open your taste buds as you pair them with a glass of cold, dry Sherry Wine.
While walking through narrow streets you discover the lively atmosphere of Cadiz’s Old Town before reaching our next spot. You step back in time as you enter in this lovely Taberna, founded in 1956 preserves intact the charm and essence of the authentic family-run Tapas Bars of Cadiz.
Finally, you have to know what is going on with the new cuisine in Cadiz so you visit one of the most well-loved creative tapas bars to discover how new generation of chefs are mixing local and traditional ingredients with modern and creative flavors.
Buen provecho! (As we say in Spanish)

Excellent tour with interesting food and great local knowledge from Bertrand.
What a lovely way to get to know Cadiz, our guide Bertrand was very good, and explained lots of history, while walking to the various tapes restaurants, each choice was perfect, and made a perfect little birthday surprise for my wife.
