You will do an hour and a half walking tour through the Historical center. Right there, in 1968, the day of Corpus Christi, a group of friends led by the local artist Pinuccio Sciola, started to colour in white the walls of the town’s ancient houses: it was the birth of San Sperate’s murals movement. Nowadays there are more than 400 murals painted by artists from all over the world. This paintings are not just fine art works, but they are also important from a social and cultural point of view, since they represent historical facts, the local life, and convey protest messages. During the walk, you will also see the traditional peasant houses called “Casa Campidanese”, characterized by a big wooden portal, and whose walls are made with clay and straw sun-dryed brics.

You will visit the garden-museum of the artist Pinuccio Sciola, whose works are displayed in several cities all around the world. In this enchanting oranges garden, you will see the big stone works inspired by the Sardinian megaliths, and above all, you will get in touch with the amazing Sound Stones: fine worked stones that do sound if just stroked.
