I already replied to Viator but it probably went to a black hole so here it goes. Of the 4 sites we visited, the Roman catacomb, Pompeii's pillar, the library and the Turkish Fortress by the sea, I actually enjoyed visiting the library and the fortress most. If you have visited other Roman ruins, you will probably not be impressed by Pompeii's pillar as it is just one pillar standing with some smaller ruins lying around. There were small museum inside the library but Nancy the tour guide told us additional tickets were needed to be purchased. Had I known I would have gladly purchased them I assume at the entrance. Lunch at the Fish Market restaurant was good. My friend bought Nancy and I a nice seafood plate : When we arrived at the fortress we took some pictures from a distance then Nancy told us we would not be going inside as it was empty and we should leave early so as to avoid driving back to Cairo in the dark . It was exactly 3:00 pm at the time Well since we were there already I figured we mind as well go inside. She then asked me if 25 minutes would be enough. As my friend had been inside before I went by myself. It was worth going in my opinion. However, it was rushed. One really need more time to stroll inside in a leisure pace. When we arrived back at Cairo it was 06:30 pm. We left Cairo at 07:00 am Very bright out! We saw a fatal traffic accident en route. 3 bodies on the edge of the highway. Looked like they were moved there. Our driver surmised they fell off the back of a pick up truck. The ambulance was there but no one was administering medical aid. Quite grim and morbid.
