Day 1: Great Pyramids & Egyptian Museum
You will be picked up from your accommodation in either Cairo or Giza by your Egyptologist Guide; you will start the day by visiting the Giza Plateau which is only about 30 minutes from Cairo where your Egyptologist Guide will provide a fascinating introduction to each of the three pyramids: Cheops, Khafre and Menakaure.
A short distance to the city side of the plateau finds you standing at the feet of the Sphinx, for thousands of years the enigmatic symbol of Egypt! Also in Giza, you may visit the valley temple wich belongs to the pyramids of Chephren.
Then you will visit the Egyptian Museum of antiquities. Here is displayed the largest and most precious artefacts of Egyptian items and art in the world. The Museum exhibits a rare collection of over 250,000 genuine artefacts that date as far back as 5000 years, including an exclusive exhibit dedicated to King Tutankhamon.
Day 2: Alexandria Tour - Departure
In the early morning, our tour representative will pick you up from your hotel. Then you will be transferred by an air-conditioned vehicle in a 3-hour journey to Alexandria, the second largest city in Egypt and the city that is also known as “The Pearl of the Mediterranean”.
In the mid-way at Cairo- Alexandria high way you can have a stop for rest.
Upon arrival at Alexandria you will visit Pompay’s Pillar that was a part of the temple of Serapis there is the so-called the daughter library of Alexandria under the temple. Lunch will be served in a good quality local restaurant in the city and close to the Mediterranean.
Then move on to the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, dug in three levels under the ground. The catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa are not only tombs for housing the dead bodies but also it has many artistic features that combine between the ancient Egyptian and the ancient Roman art.
Then move on to visit Alexandria library “Bibliotheca Alexandrina” to see it from the inside. Then continue your tour to visit Qaitbay citadel that was built at the same spot where the ancient lighthouse of Alexandria stood.
At the end of the day tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel in Cairo.
